India vs. England
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scored an 80-ball 175 to give India an early edge against England in the final of the Under-19 World Cup. Although he might not get another chance, Sooryavanshi put together an outstanding innings as 14-year-old English bowlers seemed stumped by him; although some slower ones did try their luck towards the end.
Caleb Falconer and Jake Dawkins of England have found it difficult to deal with Indian bowlers; both openers have been punished for attempted drives that have failed to go the distance, leaving them stranded on a total that they can barely defend. With such an enormous target to defend, England needs some quick wickets here if they wish to remain competitive in this game.
RS Ambrish has bowled an effective over, pitching his ball up and getting some bounce. Additionally, he has succeeded in slowing down the run-rate which will be useful to his team later. Soon enough though, spinners will come into play; and it will be crucial for them to pick up wickets if they wish to secure victory in this game.
England will have to turn to slow bowlers now as Ambrish is decimating their batsmen with his fast pace bowling and taking wickets left and right. Dawkins and Falconer can neither hold onto his deliveries nor stop them hurting their batsmen as Ambrish delivers devastating deliveries against them.
Henil Patel has now joined the attack and aims to bowl tight lines and lengths to limit England’s scoring potential. However, some recent performances may be disappointing given their high total run rate.
Thomas Rew has become the latest victim of India’s off-spinners after playing an aggressive shot that was caught by fielder in the point region. England continues to face difficulty against these bowlers, and this loss will come as a huge blow.
India, under Ayush Mhatre’s captaincy, have won the toss and elected to bat first against Thomas Rew’s England side in the Under-19 World Cricket Cup Final at home on March 4th 2019. Mhatre will look to capture their sixth championship of this tournament as India take aim to become world champions once more! Vaibhav Sooryavanshi earlier scored a stunning century to give India an early advantage, but England must strike quickly to take quick wickets and prevent Sooryavanshi and Aaron George from creating too much of a partnership between themselves. England can only hope for some quick wickets in the remaining 10 overs to bring themselves closer. They may need to settle for a lower total but could still do well if they get some luck on their side – England have several quality players who could be instrumental to them and need to quickly find their rhythm as the Indian bowlers have been dominating so far.
